Background
Shaun is a Student Life professional focused on the intersections between practitioner, scholar, and administrator. He came to the University of Florida in 2017 to direct the newly established Office of Assessment and Research in its mission to champion a culture of evidence-based decision making for the Division of Student Life. Shaun is also the co-chair of NASPA’s Assessment, Evaluation, & Research Knowledge Community, a Board Member on ACPA’s Commission for Assessment & Evaluation, and one of ACPA’s representatives to the Council for the Advancement of Standards. Shaun served the University of West Florida for 12 years in a progression of experience including creation of the Outdoor Adventures program, supervision of all Recreational Sports programming, instruction of undergraduate and graduate courses, and management of assessment initiatives for Student Life. His leadership style and strategies for building assessment capacity draw from his bachelors in animal behavior, masters in experiential education, and doctorate in physical education and health.
