About the Institute
Mission
The Assessment Institute in Indianapolis is the nation’s oldest and largest event focused on assessing and improving higher education. It is designed to provide opportunities for:
- individuals and teams from campuses and organizations new to higher education assessment and improvement to acquire fundamental knowledge about the field;
- individuals who have worked as leaders in assessment and improvement to share and extend their knowledge and skills; and
- those interested in assessment and improvement at any level or in any collegiate context to establish networks that serve as sources of support and expertise beyond the dates of the Institute..
How to plan your Institute experience
The Institute is designed to introduce you to good practice and innovations in assessment that you can use in your own setting. Plenary/Keynote events are presented by national assessment leaders. Concurrent 60-minute sessions provide a more in-depth perspective on specific topics. In addition, the 20-minute concurrent sessions will present details about instruments or techniques.
What you´ll learn at the Institute
You will learn about new techniques and proven approaches in a variety of outcomes assessment areas. Several sessions are designed for beginners, and others are for the more experienced practitioner.
